PT. Cikaengan Tirta Energi

Utilizing the Water Resources from The Cikaengan River

PT. Cikaengan Tirta Energi (CTE), is the Independent Power Producer (IPP) developing and operating the Mini-Hydro, Cikaengan Hydropower project, located in Garut, West Java, Indonesia.

Established in January 2010, CTE is an investment of Nippon Koei Co. Ltd., (NK) cooperation with PT. Energi Sumber Daya Alam Indonesia (ESDAI) with the share ownership portion 90% for NK and 10% for ESDAI. Currently, CTE has signed the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for around 20 years of commercial period.

2009

  • Investigations and preliminary studies on the River of Cikaengan, West Java, by Company Founders
  • Formulated the mini-hydro project as a run-of-river cascade consisting of 2 power stations with 3.6 MW of the total capacity

The Development of CTE’s Mini-Hydro Powerplant

Cikaengan River’s total length is about 36 km to the proposed intake site. The total height difference is approximately 2,430 m from the proposed intake site to the top of Mt. Cikuray. The catchment area at the proposed intake site near Cireundeu village is 197 km2.

The Mini-Hydro powerplant of Cikaengan is built and design by Nippon Koei Japan, the leading civil engineering consulting firm.
