What We Do In That Event ?

Jakarta – Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), the state electricity provider of Indonesia, in partnership with the 78th Indonesia National Electricity Day (MKI), hosted Enlit Asia 2023, which was held from November 14 to 16, 2023 in ICE Tangerang. Enlit is an annual conference and exhibition for the power and energy sector, coherent with the strategy to achieve a smooth transition towards a low-carbon energy future of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

With over 11,000 attendees from 50+ countries worldwide, Enlit Asia 2023 intended to highlight Indonesia’s direction towards energy transition and explore opportunities to meet growing electricity demand mainly by understanding renewable energy resources, developing renewables for industry, buildings, and transport, serving as an integrated and comprehensive bioenergy program, and ensuring sustainable development and use of this vital energy source.

Enlit Asia 2023 was utilized to display, promote, and disseminate information on the services and business activities of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. (NK), primarily in energy, hydropower, and smart city, to visitors coming to the booth, attendees of the daily presentation sessions, fellow exhibitors, and other visitors in general.

Throughout the event, as a company supporting energy transition and sustainable development, NK was specifically introduced as a one-stop shop for co-development, co-investment, energy performance certificate (EPC), and operation for battery energy storage system (BESS), hybrid renewable energy microgrids, and virtual power plants (VPP) to aggregate and trade distributed energy resources into electricity markets.

NK implements many services and projects in the renewable energy sector. The services that can be provided in each sector are as follows :

Engineering Consulting Services for renewable energy
NK has conducted surveys, due diligence, design, construction supervision, and owner's engineer services for some hydropower projects. The company has extensive experience in negotiating with governmental agencies such as PLN, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), and its dam safety committee. NK can also provide comprehensive technical services for independent power producer (IPP) developers.

Energy management services using storage batteries
The need for businesses using grid storage batteries is expanding worldwide as a means of stabilizing power grids in line with the growing introduction of renewable energy sources with fluctuating output. In Europe, where the liberalization of the electricity trading market has progressed and the introduction of large-scale grid storage batteries has begun, NK has developed one-stop services from development and planning to construction EPC and operation for a total of 75 MW/150 MWh* (50 MW/50 MWh in the United Kingdom (UK) and 25 MW/100 MWh in Belgium) of storage plants. The plants have been in operation since the first half of 2023 and NK will continue to provide services for the development, planning, construction, and operation of large-scale energy storage projects overseas and in Japan.

Ammonia co-firing and hydrogen
As a cutting-edge initiative, trials of ammonia co-firing in coal-fired power plants and hydrogen utilization as an energy source have begun worldwide. At present, NK is carrying out various studies to develop practical applications for this enterprise.
