JAKARTA - In the event of the Indonesia International Geothermal Conference and Exhibition 2025 (IIGCE 2025), Nippon Koei (NK) and PT. Indokoei International (IKI) shared the information on our technology of Hazard Map and Geohazard Management services.

HAZARD MAP, PRECISION FOR SAFER PLANNING
Selecting the right location for infrastructure or urban development projects is often a complex challenge, particularly when viewed from the perspective of natural disaster risk prediction. To address this, our Hazard Map technology provides a reliable solution by identifying and recommending the safest areas for development. Some examples of development where our hazard map technology can make a significant impact include power plant development plans and urban/area development.

1. Hazard Map for Power Generator Development

We are committed to safe power generation facilities.

1. Measurement work. Improvement of facility safety through advanced disaster prevention in hazardous areas.

2. Maintenance. To understand changes in slopes through daily inspections.

3. Monitoring. Automatic observation using observation instruments. Grasping the signs of disaster occurrence.

2. Hazard Map for Urban/Area Development

Multi-hazard maps enable making highly secure and resilient development plans considering climate change.

The international Geohazard Management department of NK provides comprehensive consulting services for effectively managing geohazards and associated risks. Our coverage of Geohazard includes landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, and floods. We manage all aspects from hazard identification to risk reduction measures, non-structural and structural, proactive and reactive. Over the last 50 years, our department has contributed to geohazard management. We have developed and proven many technologies. Technology of tsunami simulation for risk management formulation, remote sensing technology, 3D simulation for Rockfall, VR Disaster Education System, utilization of AI technology, and many more.

ONE OF THE MAJOR EXPERIENCES OF COUNTERMEASURES FOR LANDSLIDES: SHINDULI ROAD IN NEPAL

From this project, NK was honored for the achievement and received the “3rd JAPAN Construction International Award” by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) Japan in March 2020. This award was established to commend a representative “high-quality infrastructure” overseas construction project.

Some important points for winning the awards are included:

1. High acclaim from the Nepalese Government as a technology that should be used in future road construction

2. Tough road construction that had kept traffic and transporting relief supplies even after Nepal earthquake in 2015.

3. Implementation of the project with the best social considerations, even during political and social turmoil, in cooperation with government officials.
